Cup of Sparkle Kumi Bracelet
An embellished kumihimo bracelet in a pearl, gold, and AB-green colourway — half plain pearl seed-bead braid, half loaded up with crystal-and-bicone clusters worked into the cord as it's braided. Class piece from the Needlework Guild of Minnesota with Maggie T Designs.

Another embellished kumihimo class through the Needlework Guild of Minnesota with Maggie T Designs — the Frankenstein Bracelet’s sister project from the same weekend. Where Frankenstein crams in every shape of bead at once, Cup of Sparkle plays the opposite trick: a clean pearl-cream seed-bead braid runs across one half of the bracelet, then the other half explodes into a cluster of yellow seed beads, AB-coated green bicones, and clear crystal accents. Same braid, two completely different visual halves.
Worked on Maggie T’s signature kumihimo disc on the Tripod stand (visible in the workspace photo) — the bobbins of cord and pre-strung beads hang weighted off the disc edge while you braid, and the embellishment beads get pulled up into the braid one strand at a time as it forms. The official chart shows a “Zest” colourway in citrine yellows and greens; mine reads a touch quieter — pearl and cream as the base, with the citrus accents kept to one zone.
Cord and gauge per the chart: Superlon Tex #210 beading cord, 6–8° beads per cord = 1” of beaded braid, 7½” finished length. Pattern by Maggie T Designs ©2020.
Started August 10, 2024 at the class (same day as Frankenstein) — the bigger embellishment count took longer to braid. Finished August 13, 2024.
