Clarice — Rudolph
Clarice — the doe whose 'I think you're cute' makes Rudolph's nose light up bright enough for everyone to see. Third of six characters from an OOP Dimensions Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer plastic-canvas ornament kit, restitched on opalescent Lugana.

Clarice from the 1964 Rankin/Bass Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer TV special — the doe Rudolph falls for at the young-buck reindeer games. Two big moments in the film: she’s the one who tells Rudolph “I think you’re cute” (which makes his nose flare bright enough that Donner notices and the whole misfit arc kicks off), and later she sings “There’s Always Tomorrow” to comfort him when he runs away. She and her parents are part of the search party that goes looking for Rudolph after he disappears. Long-lashed eyes, neat round ears, white belly, white-tipped tail — the chart hits all the standard Clarice cues.
This is piece 3 of 6 from an out-of-print Dimensions kit — Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Plastic Canvas Christmas Ornament Counted Cross Stitch Kit. The full set, visible on the kit cover (second image), is Hermey, Santa, Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble, and Sam the Snowman. I’ll be adding the other three as separate gallery entries as I finish them.
Worth noting: in the movie Clarice wears a blue bow. The Dimensions chart gave her a red-and-white polka-dot bow (rendered as paired bows here, almost Minnie-Mouse style) and a blue knitted scarf with red fringe instead — same character, slightly different styling. I stitched it as charted.
The kit is OOP so the original kit-supplied threads aren’t replaceable — I converted the Dimensions colours to DMC equivalents and stitched it in DMC, same as the rest of the set.
Rather than the kit’s intended plastic canvas, I’m stitching the whole set on 32ct Be Stitch Me Opalescent Middle Earth Lugana I had in my stash — same fabric across all six characters so they read as a matched set when they’re up on the tree, with the iridescent thread in the weave catching light. The pale blue stitching beneath Clarice’s hooves reads as ice or shallow snow she’s standing in.
Threads are DMC throughout, with black backstitch doing the linework — the long curling eyelashes, the body silhouette, the hoof outlines, and the fine red fringe along the bottom of her scarf.
