Zinogre - Monster Hunter

Year two of the tradition — one Monster Hunter monster, stitched for my husband, every year. Zinogre followed Mizutsune.

Zinogre is a Fanged Wyvern that debuted in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (2010) and has been a series staple ever since. The wolf-like silhouette is the obvious draw, but the signature trick is the Thunderbugs — Zinogre lets the little insects swarm onto its body, then charges them up until its fur bristles, glows electric blue, and it starts chaining lightning attacks across the arena. One of the most iconic monsters in the franchise, and a favorite for anyone who likes their wyverns extra dramatic.

The pattern is based on Zinogre’s in-game icon — the same stylized silhouette treatment Capcom uses to mark monsters on the menu, matching the Mizutsune piece from year one. Framed in the same chunky weathered wood so the pair looks like a set on the wall.
