Halloween Deer by CutePatternsByMaria on Etsy — 95w × 97h stitches of a tiny sheet-ghost wearing a comically oversized set of branching coral-pink deer antlers, decked out for the season: little carved pumpkins clipped to the prongs, two black bats roosting in the rack, a spider dangling on a thread off to the side, and a wispy gray web strung between the branches. The ghost’s face — two big sad-cute orange eyes and a downturned mouth — peeks out from under the sheet, antlers and all.
Stitched on 32ct Haunted Belfast Linen — a hand-dyed misty-teal that mottles between blue, gray, and a touch of olive, reading as the kind of foggy churchyard sky the ghost is supposed to drift through. The dark ground throws the white sheet and coral antlers into high contrast and keeps the bats and spider from disappearing into the background. DMC throughout.
Started October 17, 2023. Finished October 20, 2025 — a couple of opening sessions in 2023, then dormant for nearly two years before I picked it back up in October 2025 and powered through the rest in time for Halloween.
