Haunted House — Four Floors

A four-pattern Bent Creek mash-up, stitched as one tall vertical haunted house with the four charts stacked floor-on-floor instead of finished separately. Each Bent Creek chart in their Haunted House series is sized to be the same width and tile cleanly, so end-to-end the four become a single multi-storey building.

Reading top-to-bottom:

• Attic — Petrified Party — pitched roof, ghost, snowman, pitchfork, Beware lettering, jack-o’-lantern stars.
• Second floor — Haunted Guest House: Secret Lair — Frankenstein’s monster, a black-cat-on-broom witch’s-hat, a bubbling cauldron over fire, Boo! and Bwa ha ha lettering.
• Third floor — Haunted House: Got Newt — the universal-monsters lineup: a mummy, Dracula, the Bride of Frankenstein (white-streak beehive and all), with bats and tiny hanging jack-o’-lantern lanterns above and a pirate-bandana ghost on the railing.
• Basement — Haunted House: Creek Squeak — a mad scientist in a lab coat, a shelf of flasks and test tubes with bubbling potions, an atom-symbol charm overhead, and a glasses-wearing pumpkin keeping watch — a science-class haunted lab as the building’s foundation.

The same dotted-bricks border runs around every floor, so the four panels read as one continuous facade once they’re stitched in line. Stitcher’s mark TT 24 in the lower right.

Stitched on 32ct Be Stitch Me Quick Quotes Quill evenweave — a soft mottled hand-dyed green that reads as the graveyard / swamp / haunted-pasture the house squats on, no extra background stitching needed. Threads are a mix of Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts Sampler Threads overdyes throughout — the slow tonal shifts in the overdyes give the bricks, the green-skinned monster, and the lab coat the kind of soft variation that solid DMC would have read flat against. A few glass beads / sequins scattered across the floors as small embellishments (the atom in the lab, hanging jack-o’-lanterns, a few stars).

Started October 14, 2023 — picked it up the year Petrified Party came out and added each floor as the next Haunted House chart released. Finished September 24, 2024, just under a year of off-and-on stitching.
