Niffler in a Bottle

Niffler in a Bottle

A small Niffler curled up inside a corked apothecary jar, with a paper tag tied at the neck reading 'Niffler' — part of MagicStitchWorld's Magical Creature in a Bottle series. Stitched on opalescent dark blue evenweave so the unstitched ground sparkles like a starfield around the bottle.

Niffler in a Bottle by MagicStitchWorld — part of the Magical Creature in a Bottle series, where each chart shows a different magical creature curled up inside a small corked apothecary jar with a hand-lettered paper tag tied at the neck. This one’s the Niffler — Newt Scamander’s most charming, most kleptomaniac magical creature from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, that platypus-mole hybrid who’ll empty any jewellery box he can find.

The chart specifies the niffler curled up inside the bottle clutching a tiny gold coin, with sparkles inside the jar to suggest the magical-creature-in-stasis vibe and a small paper tag tied to the neck of the bottle with twine, reading “Niffler” in script. 47w × 54h stitches in DMC throughout — small enough to finish into a bookmark, ornament, or small frame.

Stitched on a mystery-count Be Stitch Me evenweave in dark opalescent blue I had in my stash — a deep midnight blue woven with iridescent thread, so the unstitched fabric around the bottle reads as a starfield in the photo (the sparkles in the weave catch every light and make the empty space behind the jar look like the night sky). The chart’s bottle and niffler reads cleanly against that, with the in-jar sparkle motifs blending into the fabric’s natural shimmer.

This is the second Niffler in the gallery — the first is MandarinsShop’s larger framed Niffler, where he’s caught mid-haul with pearls spilling at his feet. Same creature, very different framings.
