Stitch Con 2025

Sue Hillis's *Stitch Con 2023* commemorative chart, stitched directly onto the nylon mesh of an It's So Emma *Mad for Plaid* project bag at StitchCon 2025 — year updated to 2025 to mark the retreat I actually attended.

A souvenir from StitchCon — the FlossTubers & Fans cross-stitch retreat held each June at the Sharonville Convention Center near Cincinnati, OH. My friend and I went for the 2025 weekend, our table decided to start this project together, and everyone bumped the year on the chart from 2023 → 2025 so the finish would commemorate the retreat we were actually at, not the one Sue Hillis originally released the chart for.

Stitched on the mesh face of an It’s So Emma Mad for Plaid Large Project Bag in Berry — the bag is sold specifically as a stitchable surface, the nylon mesh is meant to be treated like a very loose aida grid. In practice the mesh is harder to stitch on than it looks — the threads of the mesh have no give, no fabric texture to anchor against, and pushing the needle through repeatedly hurts your fingers in a way regular aida or linen never does. The whole table was rotating projects in and out of frame the entire weekend, sore fingertips and all.

Started June 20, 2025. Finished June 22, 2025 at StitchCon — three days at the retreat. I was the only one at the table to finish during the weekend.
