Patchwork Project Bag

Patchwork Project Bag

A *Make with Tiger Lily* class project — a patchwork-front zippered project bag pieced from 60 pre-cut 1.5″ squares of OOP *Arrival of Winter* fabric (snowmen, mittens, holly, plaids, snowflakes), foam-stabilized and quilted, with a salmon-floral binding and a pink long-pull zipper. Finishes ~12.5″ × 15″.

A Perfect Points Patchwork Project Bag kit-and-class from Tiger Lily Designs, part of the Make with Tiger Lily series — kits ship pre-cut and stitchers all build along together on a private YouTube Live Q&A (with replay), this one on November 9, 2024.

The kit includes:

  • 60 pre-cut squares for the patchwork front (plus pre-cut binding and interior lining fabric).
  • Foam stabilizer and interfacing to give the front bag panel its body.
  • A long-pull zipper.
  • The full color-printed pattern.

I picked the kit in Tiger Lily’s leftover stock of Arrival of Winter — an out-of-print winter quilting line by 3 Sisters / Moda Fabrics that she’d kitted up out of remaining yardage. The patchwork mixes navy + cream snowmen and mittens, blue snowflakes, sage olive-branch and snowflake-circle prints, ivory holly-and-berry, red barn-plaid, ivory plaid, and a snow zero temperature word-print panel — the whole face reads as a winter scrap quilt with a few intentional fussy-cut focal blocks (the snowman, the lone tree).

Finished bag measures roughly 12.5″ × 15″ with a pink long-pull zipper across the top and a salmon-pink floral binding wrapping all four edges, framing the patchwork.

Pieced, quilted, bound, and zipped — a same-day FFO finished November 9, 2024, alongside the live class.
