Sweet Chevron Project Bag

Sweet Chevron Project Bag

A Harvest Moon Hangout 2026 exclusive from Tiger Lily Designs — an envelope-style project bag with a pieced chevron front panel, no zipper and no binding, plus the coordinating mini notions pouch. Made in my own black, cream and aqua sewing-novelty prints instead of the kit fabric. Finishes ~13" × 15".

A Sweet Chevron Project Bag class project from Tiger Lily Designs, stitched up during Harvest Moon Hangout 2026 — Lindy Stitches’ virtual stitching weekend, September 25–27, 2026, three evenings of casual crafting with optional live classes.

The pattern was a Harvest Moon exclusive: an envelope-style bag with the flap folding down over the front, deliberately built with no zipper and no binding — which is what makes it approachable for an adventurous beginner while still being interesting to sew. The face is the selling point: strips pieced on the diagonal into a chevron panel that runs in Vs across the flap and body. The class ran as a live step-by-step Q&A, with the video tutorial available beforehand for anyone who wanted to sew ahead.

The kit shipped in autumn colors — five Sharon Holland / Art Gallery collections curated into a fall palette. I skipped the kit fabric and used my own from SR Harris instead, and went in a completely different direction: a black, cream, grey and aqua sewing-novelty theme. The prints in the chevron are all sewing-room references.

I also made the bonus mini notions pouch that comes with the pattern — same envelope construction at 6″ × 10″, shown tied closed with its black ribbon alongside the big bag. The main bag finishes at roughly 13″ × 15″, closed with a magnetic snap under the flap.

Cut, pieced, and fully finished on September 26, 2026 — a same-day FFO, both pieces done alongside the live class.
