Astalos - Monster Hunter

Year five of the tradition — one Monster Hunter monster, stitched for my husband, every year. Astalos came after Nargacuga, Rathalos, Zinogre, and Mizutsune.

Astalos is a Flying Wyvern that debuted in Monster Hunter Generations (2015) as one of the Fated Four — the headline monsters introduced for that game alongside Mizutsune. Bright neon-green and built like a praying mantis, with scissor-shaped wings it uses to slice and to generate electricity: the more Astalos fights, the more it charges itself up, glowing brighter and hitting harder until you knock it out of the supercharged state. A thunder-element answer to Mizutsune’s water — same generation, opposite vibe.

The pattern is based on Astalos’ in-game icon — same stylized silhouette treatment that ties the whole set together. Same chunky weathered wood frame, fifth piece on the wall.
